50s/60s Pumps

The oil companies got all their ducks in a row when they developed the full calculator pump. This is the design most of us remember using from the 40s right through the 60s. It not only displayed the gallons but calculated the price as well. No more price sign either as that was also indicated on the face of the dial. By the late 60s the narrow body pump we identify with had broadened to 25 or 30 inches and became a big stainless steel monster. They lost all design and character. There was no fixture on top for the, all familiar, advertising globe anymore and that closed the chapter.

Please note that some of the pictures here are of earlier pumps we built and do not have any trim on the corners. We now build all face pumps with a polished look corner trim.

A typical pump costs $1150.99 plus shipping.
